Geotiff files are TIFF files which have geographic metadata embedded as tags within the TIFF file. The geographic metadata can then be used to position the image in the correct location and geometry on the screen of a geographic information display. ecw files are compressed images. The data are split into three folders: coherence, ers1 and ers2 and then by region and format. Not all the Age/Type combinations are used, for example there are no Early and Middle Victorian very tall flats (point blocks) in the current edition of the classification (Version 6 September 2012). The current database for the UK does not contain Age categories 1 and 2 and only one type for Age 8.
